We're pleased to offer the following services at Mapleview Animal Hospital:
Our appointment book is computerized, which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
We have one or more veterinarians and personnel on duty six days a week during our regularly scheduled office hours who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such as rat bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call us at 616-399-2140. If your pet requires emergency care outside of our normal office hours, please contact The Animal Emergency Hospital at 616-361-9911.

You and your pet will be a welcome part of our family. Mapleview has a wide range of animal care options to fit your needs. If you can bring it, we can see it! That’s our motto about the many types of animals we serve. Besides popular house pets like cats and dogs, we see numerous ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs and birds. We’ve even performed a c-section on a goat! One of our clients has an exotic animal farm so we see her lemurs, African Civets, Galapagos Tortoises and Bobcats. You just never know what you may see in the building. While we’ll see just about anything, we do not see spiders, scorpions or monkeys!
We are pleased to offer a state-of-the-art veterinary clinic with the latest in veterinary equipment to aid us in the care of your animals. Equipment includes, but is not limited to:
- Pulse Oximeter
- CO2 laser
- Orthopedic equipment
- Digital radiograph
- Cold laser therapy
- Sevoflurane anesthetic
- In-house laboratory equipment
Barb Balder, Mapleview's full-time groomer, works 6 days per week by appointment. Appointments are for either morning or afternoon. Barb is a graduate of Paragon School in Jenison and grooms all breeds of dogs and cats.
Dogs and cats are welcome guests at Mapleview while their owners are on vacation.
Reservations are needed for all boarding, especially during the holidays.
- Dogs stay in climate controlled indoor rooms. Larger dogs or multiple dogs (from the same family staying together) are boarded in runs which range in size from 3'x5' to 5'x8'. All runs contain resting benches. Smaller dogs are in their own room to help minimize the stress of being away from their families. All dogs are walked at least twice daily. Dogs may bring their favorite food, toys and treats for their stay. For those wishing to use our food, we feed Purina Pro Plan or Royal Canin GI Low Fat.
- Cats have their very own climate controlled room away from the noisy dogs. Their accommodations are cat condos containing separate areas for sleeping and litter boxes. Cats are given supervised play time on the climbing trees and can look out the windows. Cats are welcome to bring their own food, toys and treats. For those wishing to use our food, we feed Science Diet.
