Jim.jpgJim Bader, DVM

I graduated in 1988 from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to forming Mapleview Animal Hospital in 1992, I spent 2 years practicing in Allegan and 2 years at another practice in Holland. Since graduating, I have completed several certificate programs including certification in Shelter Medicine and Veterinary Forensics (University of Florida); Non-profit Management (University of Illinois-Chicago); and, Veterinary Chiro-Practitioner (VOM Technology). I am currently in the process of completing my Master’s Degree in Shelter Medicine at the University of Florida.

I am married and have four children. I enjoy traveling, cooking, home improvement projects, golf and archery. My family and I own several different types of animals which, I think, helps me to relate better to owners when they bring their pets in for a visit.

Veterinary Medicine is enjoyable to me because of the diversity. I relish learning as much as possible about all species from chameleons to kangaroos. This can be challenging at times, but is also very rewarding.
