Thinking of your pet undergoing anesthesia can be stressful. In some cases, this fear and uncertainty can prevent pets from receiving the medical care they need and deserve. While your pet is here for procedures requiring anesthesia, take comfort in knowing that your pet will receive safe, comprehensive, advanced anesthesia and monitoring from our staff.
There is nothing more important to us than your pet’s safety, so we offer a variety of pre-anesthetic tests to screen patients and adjust our anesthetic protocol specifically for your pet. Our staff and doctors monitor your pet before, during, and after anesthesia to help ensure the best possible outcome.
We use Sevoflurane Gas Anesthesia for all general surgical procedures. Pulse Oximetry, ECG Monitoring, Blood Pressure Monitoring, and Temperature readings are taken throughout surgical procedures. If you have any questions regarding a procedure or our protocol, please call our office.
When you go away, rest assured that your cat(s) will receive terrific care while they are with us. Each cat is housed in a cat condo, which provides ample space for moving around and separate areas for hiding, food/water and the litter-box. Our cat boarding room offers lots of natural light with a view of a bird-feeder to provide stimulation. Cats are fed and cleaned twice daily during their stay. We also provide them with play time, allowing them to wander around the room to stretch out their legs.
Cats must be current on their rabies vaccinations to stay with us.
When your dog stays with us, they boarding dogenjoy the benefit of indoor, climate controlled runs. Our runs range in size from 3’x5′ to 5’x8′ – room for even the largest dogs. Our kennel staff takes the dogs out for walks a minimum of two times daily and extra play-time in our outdoor play-yards may be scheduled for an additional fee.
Each run has a resting bench and comfy blankets are provided (or you may bring your own from home). Dogs may enjoy their toys and treats to help keep them entertained during their stay. Music is played throughout the boarding kennel to create a more relaxed environment.
Smaller dogs are housed in a separate, less stressful room.
Dogs must be current on the following vaccinations during their stay:
– DHLPP – Bordetella – Rabies
Barb Balder is our full-time groomer and she works 6 days per week by appointment – either morning or afternoon – grooming both dogs and cats. Barb discusses with the clients what they desire for the visit and will do everything from show grooming to full-body shaves. Included in our grooming services are: bathing; drying; hair-cut; toe nail trimming; and anal sac expression. Barb graduated from the Paragon School of Pet Grooming.
Dogs in for grooming must be current on DHLPP; Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations. Cats must be current on Rabies vaccination.
There may come a time during the life of your pet, where you need to make the difficult, heart-wrenching decision to have your pet humanely euthanized. We understand that this decision is very personal and difficult whether it is due to a terminal illness or quality of life. Know that our compassionate staff will assist you through every step of the process and are here to answer any of your questions regarding the euthanasia procedure or the after-care of your beloved pet.
Laboratory testing is a valuable tool in veterinary medicine. Our in-house laboratory gives us the ability to run many diagnostic tests quickly and accurately, with same day results, enabling us to provide quality care to our patients.
Some diagnostic tests are not able to run in-house. For any of those tests (such as biopsies), we utilize several different laboratories throughout the country.
Mapleview Animal Hospital, PC is a full-service canine reproduction facility covering progesterone testing; vaginal cytology; Artificial Insemination (using fresh, fresh-chilled or frozen semen) by vaginal or surgical insemination; collection and preparation of semen for fresh, fresh-chilled or frozen collections; semen freezing. These services are available for purebred dogs only. Caesarean sections (c-sections) are also performed when necessary.
Semen freezing became a part of Mapleview in 1999 when Dr. Jim went to Camelot Farms in Bryant, Texas to learn their technique of semen freezing. Our AKC approved on-site semen storage facility allows easy access to the frozen semen.
Please note that not all of our veterinarians perform all of the above services.
